I know what it feels like to be broken. I also know what it looks like when God puts a life back together. This is that story.
Where It Started
I did not grow up in a stable home.
My mom was addicted to crack. My dad was addicted to heroin.
By the time I was 2 years old I was placed into foster care. Over the next several years I lived with 13 different families.
Thirteen environments.
Thirteen different versions of normal.
I experienced abandonment, rejection, and abuse. Emotionally. Physically. Sexually.
And somewhere along the way I started believing the lies that come with that kind of life. That I was not wanted. That I did not belong. That my life did not really matter.
The Shift
But my story did not end there.
God placed me into a family that did not just take me in. They chose me.
Not perfect. But different.
That season did not erase my past. But it started rewriting my future.
Building Life My Way
As I got older I did what a lot of people do. I tried to build a life that looked successful on the outside.
I went into business. I built, sold, and grew companies. At one point I was doing over $20,000 a week in revenue.
From the outside it looked like I had made it.
Success does not fix what is broken internally. Money, hustle, and momentum are not the same thing as freedom. I had to learn that the hard way.
Encountering Jesus for Real
At some point everything shifted.
Not just belief. Encounter. Not just knowing about God. Actually experiencing Him.
Jesus did not just become someone I believed in. He became the One who started changing everything.
New purpose started forming.
My mindset began to change. My habits began to change. My direction began to change.
It was not overnight. But it was real.
From Business to the Call
God began to stir something in me. What started as personal transformation turned into a calling.
I stepped out of what was comfortable. Stepped away from what was working. And stepped into what God was calling me to. That journey led me into ministry and I have never looked back.
Today I lead Local Church Waller, a community of people who are done going through the motions and ready to encounter the living God. I lead Adopted By The King, a movement built to help people find hope, walk in freedom, and live in purpose in Jesus Christ. And I get to do all of it alongside my wife Katie Sue and our kids.
